Georgina Hawkins established her first successful jewellery business, Tanzanite Jewellery, back in 2012. With her love and fascination of the Tanzanite gemstone, and with £500 she got from a Great Aunts Will, she commenced trading with a market stall on a Tuesday, which was and is still held under the historical Market House in Ledbury, Herefordshire.
From there she joined forces with a business partner and eventually they opened their own shop in the high street of Ledbury. She launched a custom-made jewellery service, seeing a gap in the market to offer custom-made pieces of jewellery for customers. "Very often someone will like a piece of jewellery, but prefer a different gemstone or slightly different design, I wanted to provide flexibility." She built up a strong relationship with her jewellery team who are based in Jaipur, India and Georgina launched her own personal "Whishaw Collection" of jewellery in 2015, named after her paternal family. Simple, elegant designs, always bezel set in sterling silver and gold.
Since leaving Tanzanite Jewellery to pursue new challenges, and to focus solely on flexible custom-made jewellery, which is her passion, Georgina, her knowledge and her team will be an asset to us here at Tanzanite Fine Jewellery.
